Who am I?
This is, who I think I am at this point of my life.
I’m Samantha Adalia, peculiar fourteen year old (so I still do ridonkulous things).
So.
I’m a born-and-bred(-in-Quezon-City-Manila) Filipino but I live in contrasting Kathmandu, Nepal.
For the first ten years of my life, I rolled and reveled in the islands of the Philippines. It's the home that I still look forward to come back to once a year, and about half of all my friends are from there. The other half consists of Nepalis and so many diverse nationalities. Most Filipinos only have about a handful of foreign friends, I guess, but as an immigrant to the landlocked kingdom of Nepal (jokes, it's a federal democratic republic now) one is inevitable to have friends from every nation (and Every Nation is the name of our church here xD). We moved in 2011, because my family's hearts have been moved to help our sister nation to rise up from the ashes, even if our own country was still doing the same. Kathmandu is what I call home, along with the Philippines. You can't make me choose between one or the other, though.
I’m a Jesus freak but sometimes I fail to show it.
Growing up in a Christian family, I made my own decision to follow Jesus when I was old enough to understand, and with the loving assistance of my parents and my church, I continued the journey with Jesus for the rest of my life. He has been the best thing that's ever happened to me, the sole reason of why I live and the oil that makes the creaky cogs and gears of my frail humanity go on.
And as a Christian, I am also burdened with glorious purpose to share this love that He freely gave to me and absolutely everyone when He died on that cross, and the hope and victory of when He rose again.
But a quote from "The Irresistible Revolution" says some Christians just continue to live their life and sprinkle a little Jesus along the way. I'm gonna be honest with you, that's 45% me. I don't know if that is gonna change soon, or if I'll totally let Jesus shine through me, a broken and prone-to-failure human, and be my life 100%. Whatever happens, I pray Jesus to build His kingdom here, and through me, and may He give us the courage.
I’m being homeschooled but I have never attended a conventional school.
Yes, homeschooling is another awesome aspect of life. My friends who shifted from that to conventional say it's like heaven (lol Misha, Iolo almost makes it sound that way). Though my parents are my main teachers and I self-study, I'm still enrolled in The Master's Academy Homeschool, in Manila, Philippines. And yes again, I haven't ever been to a conventional school, and am planning to stay with homeschooling till college.
I’m a bookworm (addict) who loves fiction but my dad has been trying to get me to read books related to business, being hale with people, life stories, and things.
I’m only two year-old supporter of Chelsea Football Club but my peers call me a “football adic [sic]”.
I’m an artist who has an affinity for drawing and doodling fandoms and random things but am not too volatile with colours yet.
I don't usually post art on the Internet, but if you see one of mine, I hope you'll like it. My tumblr tag /my-art (lol yes) contains some of my drawings tho.
I’m a fangirl of a lot of fandoms but no one is a fangirl of me xD
I like playing philosophical computer games but I have found the answer to what life is and what we should do about it already (I'm making you guess for suspense).
I like being around people but I dread speaking in front of congregations.
I love chocolate but not white chocolate.
I want to serve the poor when I finish graduating from college but now I am living a safe, luxurious, rich, too-many-blessings-why-don’t-I-give-them-back-to-people life.
