Me, a Football Fanatic

I had loved soccer since I was 6 years old. I played it on Saturdays when I was six until I stopped having classes when I was nine. I had soccer classes in the UP soccer field, with my friends, the Capulis. I had my friends there who were called Eman, Marina, Matt, Gabby, and Kyle. I had fun running laps around the field, playing with my friends in the sidelines, exploring the nature around the field, and playing with players 20 years older than us. The UP field was really a marvel to me. But I stopped having classes, and would not have anything to do with soccer again til we went to Nepal.
In Nepal, football is one of the main sports, so I joined in loving it. My dad was on the team Chelsea, so I became a Chelsea fan too. Dad always chooses the underdog. After watching other matches, I liked Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City, which is, I think, a lot.
Then the Azkals were to play for the AFC Cup in Nepal. This was March, and soon the Filipinos were crazed. As football fans and Filipinos, we went to their hotel and did the usual stuff fans did. Our first visit in the hotel was to have breakfast with one of our fellow Filipinas. We talked with their coach, and the next visit that afternoon was before the real football match. We had pictures with some of them. Good thing, this wasn't the real meet-and-greet stuff yet. We went to the other matches, and this is where I became a real football fan. And the real meet-and-greet stuff was quite crazy. Only at a short notice, almost everyone in the Filipino community in Nepal came. But I think some of them weren't real football fans at all. They were probably only there for the football team celebrities and the souvenirs from the Azkals. Well, I kinda went there for that, to meet them... After the Azkals, we watched more football games.
Okay, you might be wondering why I called it soccer first, then football here. It's because in the Philippines, football is soccer, and in Nepal, soccer is football. I think 'football' is better. Anyways, we watched more football games, and I still am a Chelsea fan. (Chelsea FC is my best forever!!!) I think I only went for Barcelona because of the name, playing, and Lionel Messi, but now, I only like it, because it's already won many. And I like Real Madrid better, because of their great playing. Manchester City, is also good, and I don't know if it is the best, 'cause I'm in the Philippines, I'm losing track of who won and stuff :-(, but it's still gonna be number 2 in my fanatics list. I go for it because of its playing, their color, and I guess, Samir Nasri. And I like Real Madrid, because of their great playing. I really miss watching football games. And recently, meaning just over an hour ago (when I am writing this), the Azkals won over Taipei! Let's go, Azkals! Let's go, Azkals!
Football is one of the things I love. I really love football. Now in ending this, I will say,
I AM A FOOTBALL FANATIC FOREVER!!!!

A fellow football fan, the Blue-Haired Fanatic

Me, supporting the Philippines during the AFC

The Filipino Community in Nepal supporting
                                                        the Azkals

 My team, Chelsea FC!!!

Manchester City, now my second team (yes!), after
  winning in the Barclays League

Real Madrid, my second team

Aaaaand, presenting, Barce or FC Barcelona!
I still like the team, though.
And I also support the Azkals (of course, it's my home team!). Soccer, footy, football, or whatever they call you, I love you!
Again...
I AM A FOOTBALL FANATIC FOREVER!!!!

The Gangnam Style

Wow, that song is really famous. Before, I really hated that song, because of the voice saying 'Oppan Gangnam Style'. But as its popularity increased, I began to like, then love the song. Except for the part I changed into "Eh- pretty lady". That's the only downfall in the song, I think. The other words are okay. I pity the people who don't know how to mimic the dance steps. Like the old women in Big Time Wil Time. And Gangnam Style was the last dance our class in First Quarter Theater Class danced. Man, it was fun! I'll really miss the guys who won't be able to enroll again. It was like leaving the country or something :P Thank you PSY, for the song! And Gangnam Style, you will always be a part of my Philippines!
OPPAN GANGNAM STYLE!!!

Lift your eyes and look

"O, why, atheist,
Do you insist
That there is no God?

Why do you burden yourself
By making hard equations?
To prove that there is no Creator,
And debate in some occasions?

Take a picnic to a meadow,
A walk next to a creek.
Spend a day in the mountains,
Sleep under the stars, can you speak?
And tell me there isn't a God.

See a cow graze in the meadow,
Find some fish in the creek.
Ride a goat in the mountains,
Hear an owl hooting, oh seek.
Can't you see Him in all this?

Why don't you believe?
Why do you harden your hearts
Close your eyes
Deafen your ears
Why don't you turn and believe?

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens.
Who created all these?"

a poem inspired by: a comment from someone in Facebook, desire for atheists to believe and be saved, and Isaiah 40:26

Eagle's Wings

This blog's title, "On Wings Like Eagles", is from my current favorite verse from the Bible, Isaiah 40:31, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
I really love birds. And the Falconiformes order of falcons, hawks, and eagles is one of my favorites. I even want to be an ornithologist, a bird scientist, someday. I became more fascinated with birds when I came to Nepal, which has over 848 species. That's why I named my blog after birds, God's creation. You can learn a whole lot of lessons from birds! Not just lessons of science, but life lessons.

Just take a break, and observe the birds :).
